Nash lands on United Soccer Coaches All-America First Team

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Cassie Nash caps an outstanding senior season and sensational career at Simpson College by earning First Team All-America honors from the United Soccer Coaches.

It marks the second straight year the Lincoln, Neb. native has garnered All-American status after being named to the third team last year. On top of being the only All-American in team history, Nash is the first three-time all-region and fourth four-time all-conference player. She was the American Rivers Conference Offensive MVP in 2022.

Nash led Simpson offensively in one of the best seasons in program history this year. The Storm went 16-3-2 overall and made it to the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament after qualifying for the first time in 24 seasons. Nash scored 22 of the team's 50 goals, including all six during Simpson's postseason run, and added 10 assists.

Coming off a third team All-American season in 2022, Nash started her final campaign by either scoring or assisting on nine of Simpson's first 10 goals. She garnered conference and national player of the week recognition after her hot start and was named the league's offensive player of the week three more times before the year was over, ending her career as a two-time Division III Player of the Week and nine-time A-R-C Player of the Week recipient.

Nash closed the year with a bang as well, scoring 11 goals in the Storm's final six games. She tallied her third career hat trick in Simpson's regular season finale and led her team to a runner-up finish in the conference tournament with three more goals. In the NCAA Tournament, she netted two goals in a 2-1 victory over St. Catherine and converted the only goal allowed by No. 11 Wis.-La Crosse on its home turf this season.

In Simpson's career record book, Nash ranks top 5 in points (152), goals (63), assists (26), and shots (276). Additionally, she completes her career with the seventh-most hat tricks (3) as well as the second-most multi-goal games (20) and most game-winning goals since 2001 (18).

This year's All-Americans will be recognized for their accomplishments at the United Soccer Coaches All-America Ceremony & Reception on Saturday, Jan, 13, 2024 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California, in conjunction with the United Soccer Coaches Convention.
