Simpson downs Central 3-0 in A-R-C opener

INDIANOLA, Iowa – Jordyn Foelske and Ally Hoffa teamed up to score two goals in the first half, Cassie Nash notched her sixth goal of the year in the second, and the Simpson College women's soccer team defeated Central 3-0 in Sunday's American Rivers Conference opener.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • With just under 30 minutes to go in the first half, Foelske and Hoffa assisted each other on a pair of goals to give Simpson (7-1) a two-goal advantage. Foelske was the first to score on a long pass from Hoffa from the left side, her second straight game giving the Storm a 1-0 lead. The duo switched roles a minute later as Hoffa scored from 20 yards out on a cross from Foelske.
  • Nash added more insurance with just over 10 minutes left in the game, scoring with her left foot after taking a pass from Brissa Valadez around a couple of Dutch defenders.
  • The Storm defense contained Central (4-2-3) to just five shots overall, including just two in the second half.
