Nash’s season-high points lands another player of the week honor
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – After recording a season-high seven points in Simpson's 6-0 win over Coe, Cassie Nash has been named the American Rivers Conference Offensive Player of the Week.
This is the third time this season and eighth time in her career Nash has earned weekly honors from the league office.
The Lincoln, Neb. native notched her second hat trick of the year in Simpson's regular season finale at Coe, scoring in the 13th, 50th and 54th minutes. She additionally provided the assist on the Storm's game-winning goal that was scored by Ally Hoffa just 1:18 into the contest.
Nash heads into the postseason with 16 goals and 10 assists, ranking top 20 in Division III in points per game (2.47). She has six games with two or more goals and three with multiple assists.
Simpson enters the conference playoffs ranked No. 4 in Region IX in both the NCAA DIII and United Soccer Coaches rankings. The Storm, who host No. 3-seed Luther on Wednesday night for the semifinals, are seeking their second NCAA Tournament bid in program history and first in more than two decades.
