Nash honored as player of the week for seventh time

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – For the second time this season and seventh time in her career, senior Cassie Nash has been named American Rivers Conference Offensive Player of the Week.

Nash registered three goals and three assists in Simpson's perfect 2-0 week with league wins over Luther and Buena Vista. She started the week by scoring her 50th career goal just six minutes into the game against the Norse. In the second half, she assisted Jordyn Foelske on both the game-tying and game-winning goals as the Storm won 3-2. On Saturday against the Beavers, she recorded her third brace of the season while adding another assist to help Simpson to a 4-0 shutout.

Nash now has four games with multiple goals and three with multiple assists this season. She currently ranks fifth all-time in career points (128) and career goals (52) as well as tied for sixth in career assists (24).

The Storm (10-1-1, 3-0-0 A-R-C) continue conference play with a 5 p.m. match against Nebraska Wesleyan tonight at Buxton Stadium. With a win, Simpson will be off to a 4-0 start in league play for the first time since 2005.
