Women’s soccer tripped up by Loras

DUBUQUE, Iowa – The No. 24 Simpson College women's soccer team came up empty against Loras in a battle of the only two undefeated teams in American Rivers Conference play.

The Duhawks (12-1-0, 5-0-0 A-R-C) scored once in each half, using goals from Savannah Johnson and Bella Talbot to top the Storm (11-2-1, 4-1-0 A-R-C) and take sole possession of first place in the league.

Brissa Valadez led Simpson with three shots. Lani Mears made three saves in goal.

NOTES

  • Simpson's unbeaten streak comes to an end at eight games.
  • This is just the second time the Storm have allowed multiple goals this season and the third time they have been held scoreless.
  • Loras has won 23 consecutive games against A-R-C opponents dating back to April 16, 2021.

The Storm look to bounce back on Wednesday when they make the trip back to Dubuque to face the Spartans in another A-R-C clash. Simpson will play the second game of the men's and women's doubleheader, with first kick set for 7:30 p.m.
