Short-handed Storm fall on the road to Central

PELLA, Iowa - Continuing their three-game road trip, the Storm were unable to overcome a tough offensive first half, falling 85-60 to Central on Wednesday night.

Three Storm (4-15, 1-9 A-R-C) managed to score in double-digits, led by Levi Gurwell's 14, followed by Zay Howard and Michael Kasperbauer's season-high 11 points. Central (12-7, 7-3 A-R-C) connected on 14 3-pointers, and used a 43-to-27 rebounding advantage to stifle the Storm's efforts.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Central jumped out to an early 16-4 lead, with Gurwell, and Kasperbauer scoring the two field goals for the Storm in the opening six minutes.
  • The Dutch continued to build on their lead, stretching it to 32-12 with seven minutes before halftime.
  • Simpson managed to control the final minutes of half, out scoring Central 15-to-14.
  • Baskets from Gurwell and Nathaniel Winter looked to keep the momentum rolling at the start of the second half.
  • Central continued to find their scoring from beyond the arc in the second half, and held off any attempt for a comeback, holding on to the 85-60 result.
