HOW IT HAPPENED

  • After a quiet start offensively for Simpson, Huston connected for the first basket of the game, a 3-pointer nearly three minutes in.
  • A 3-pointer from Rasmussen at the 16:07 mark gave Simpson its first lead of the game, and the Storm never looked back.
  • The Storm continued to find answers on the offensive end, opening up a 27-20 lead with 7:44 after another 3-pointer from Huston.

  • Rasmussen hit his second 3-pointer of the game, and followed it by being fouled another 3-point attempt. The freshman calmly knocked down all three free throws, and gave Simpson a 51-41 lead.
  • Despite efforts from Whitewater, Simpson continued to expand the lead in the second half, swelling to as many as 22.
  • As a team, Simpson shot 16-for-27 from the field (59.3 percent) in the second half, while going a perfect 10-for-10 at the line. The Storm collected nine assists on their 16 made shots, while limiting Whitewater to just 10-for-28 (35.7 percent) shooting from the field.
