
Henderson's 17 paces Storm in road loss to Gustavus Adolphus
SAINT PETER, Minn. - In a back-and-forth effort, Simpson ultimately fell on the road to Gustavus Adolphus 77-66 on Saturday night.
The lead changed hands 10 times with 11 ties throughout the contest. Simpson limited Gustavus Adolphus' chances from beyond the arc, holding them to only 1-for-15 shooting. Cam Henderson led the way in the scoring column with 17 points, while four different players scored eight or more points for Simpson.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Simpson scored nine of their first 11 points from beyond the arc, including two from Bo Huston, as the score remained within five after ten minutes.
- Back-to-back baskets from Cam Henderson and Brogan Fuller put the Storm on top 19-18 with 6:12 left in the first half.
- Gustavus Adolphus took a four point lead into half but it was quickly erased when Simpson went on a 7-0 run to open the second half.
- Both sides traded the lead back and forth throughout the second half, with Simpson holding to a 53-50 lead with nine minutes left.
- Down the stretch, Gustavus Adolphus managed to outpace the Storm and connected on their free throws in the final minutes to seal the 77-66 result.
