
Storm freeze out Norse in first A-R-C win of the season
DECORAH, Iowa - In a defensive game, Simpson outpaced Luther 61-57 and was led by Caden Rehmeier's 14 points as the Storm picked up their first A-R-C win of the season.
Simpson (4-11, 1-5 A-R-C) left the Norse's offense frozen in the second half, limiting Luther (1-13, 0-6 A-R-C) to only 8-for-34 shooting from the field. The Storm was led by Rehmeier and Austin Murrow, who combined for nearly half of Simpson's offense with 27 points. Cam Henderson and Marcus Haupert added eight points each, with Colton Rasmussen adding seven points of his own.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- With back-and-forth action to begin the contest, Luther jumped out to first solid lead, 22-15, at the halfway point of the first half.
- A 3-pointer from Rehmeier jumpstarted the Storm's offense, leading to a 12-2 run that put Simpson back on top 27-24 with five minutes in the half.
- The Storm led by as many as seven before a small run by Luther right before half trimmed to lead down to 37-36.
- After Luther took back the lead with a second half opening bucket, the Storm responded with another run. Over the course of eight minutes, Simpson outpaced Luther 16-6 to open up a commanding 53-44 lead.
- In the final 10 minutes of action, Simpson limited Luther to only eight points, while Rehmeier nearly outscored Luther with his seven points to grind out the 61-57 win on the road.
