
Second half effort lifts Nebraska Wesleyan past Storm
INDIANOLA, Iowa - After a back-and-forth first half, Nebraska Wesleyan used a 15-0 run to squeeze past Simpson 81-60 on Wednesday night.
Fueled in the first half by four 3-pointers from Caden Rehmeier, Simpson (3-11, 0-5 A-R-C) and Nebraska Wesleyan (10-3, 3-1 A-R-C) went back and forth throughout the first half. However, the momentum ran out for the Storm in the second half after the Prairie Wolves capitalized on a 15-0 run to secure the road win.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Simpson jumped out to the early lead behind the hot shooting from Caden Rehmeier and Colton Rasmussen.
- The Storm led by as many as seven in the first half before Nebraska Wesleyan used an 8-0 run to erase the lead.
- Nebraska Wesleyan continued to pressure the Storm, opening up an eight lead right before half when Austin Murrow slashed the score to 39-34 with a buzzer-beating 3-pointer.
- Out of halftime, Nebraska Wesleyan saw its lead jump to 10 before the Storm answered back with a 3-pointer from Cam Henderson, followed by a basket by Rasmussen.
- The Prairie Wolves established control of the game with a 15-0 run and never looked back, leading to an 81-60 result.
