Men’s track and field ranked 22nd in NCAA

INDIANOLA, Iowa — The Simpson men's track and field team is ranked 22nd in the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association NCAA Division III National Championship Rankings, as announced by the USTFCCCA on Tuesday.

Fueled by Dylan Kalinay's jump up the leaderboard in the 110-meter hurdles, the Storm moved up 22 spots in the national rankings, one of the biggest movers in the country.

Simpson now has two events ranked in the top-5 in the NCAA Division III Descending Order list. Kalinay is ranked third in the 110 hurdles while the 4x400-meter relay of Chase Wetterling, Travis Tupper, Matt Pearson and Jordan Coughenour is ranked fourth. Additionally, Coughenour has the No. 16 time in the 400 hurdles.

The rankings use mathematical formulae based on the current national descending order list to create an index that showcases teams that have the best potential of achieving top spots in a national-title race. The rankings are used as a predictor of how teams will perform at the NCAA Championships based on the current descending order list. Full Rationale
