Coughenour named IIAC Performer of the Week
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Simpson hurdler Jordan Coughenour earned Iowa Conference Track Performer of the Week honors for the period ending Sunday, April 9, the league office announced.
A junior from Maxwell, Iowa, Coughenour ran the conference's fastest time in the 400-meter hurdles at last weekend's Cornell Invitational, breaking the tape in 54.41 to win the event. He also ran the third-leg on Simpson's 4x400-relay team which ran the fifth-fastest time in Division III (3:17.72).
Coughenour's time in the 400 hurdles ranks 12th in Division III. He helped the Storm to their second-straight meet title as Simpson topped the 11-team field with 137 points.
The weekly accolade is the first of Coughenour's career.
