Eight named all-region

INDIANOLA, Iowa – Eight members of Simpson's track and field team earned U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Central Region honors for their efforts during the 2017 indoor season, as announced by the USTFCCCA earlier this month.

Sam Adeniyi (60-meter hurdles), Jordan Coughenour (4x400-meter relay), Isaac Frazier (60-meter hurdles, heptathlon), Dylan Kalinay (60-meter hurdles), Travis Tupper (4x400-meter relay), Chase Wetterling (4x400-meter relay), Emmitt Wheatley (60 meters, 200 meters) and Kirk Wicks (4x400-meter relay) were recognized after churning out some of the top performances in the region.

Additionally, the men's team closed the indoor season ranked seventh in the final Central Region rankings.

To be named all-region, an athlete must either be ranked in the top-5 of an individual event in the region according to the final TFRRS data or be part of a top-3 relay team.

The Storm and head coach Dave Cleveland will begin the outdoor season this weekend at the Central Invitational on Friday, March 31 and Saturday, April 1.
