Kalinay named IIAC Performer of the Week for second time

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — For the second time this season Simpson hurdler Dylan Kalinay is the Iowa Conference Track Performer of the Week, earning the award  for the period ending Sunday, Jan. 29, the conference office announced Monday.

IIAC Performers of the Week

A junior from Toledo, Iowa, Kalinay posted his third personal best in as many tries in the 60-meter hurdles, winning the event at UNI's Jack Jennett Invitational on Friday, Jan. 27. Kalinay broke the tape in 8.24 seconds to edge Wichita State's Tyler Knight. The time is tops in the Iowa Conference and ranks 10th in Division III.

Kalinay added a 10th-place finish in the 200 meters, finishing in 23.04. 

The 2016 Outdoor All-American is now a five-time IIAC Performer of the Week, earning the honor once as a freshman in 2015, twice in 2016 and now twice in 2017.
