Storm earn United Soccer Coaches Academic Award

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Simpson College women's soccer team received the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for their exemplary performance in the classroom during the 2021-22 academic calendar.

The Storm women earned a 3.53 team GPA this past year, ranking fifth in the Simpson athletic department behind both tennis squads, women's swimming and women's golf. Across the American Rivers Conference, the Storm's GPA was second-best behind Luther's team GPA of 3.54.

A total of 746 soccer teams (220 men, 382 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2021-22 academic year. Of that total, 130 schools had both their men's and women's programs recognized.

Simpson begins its 2022 schedule with a home match against Illinois Wesleyan on Sept. 1 at 5 p.m.
