Nash, Roberts help Storm push win streak to four

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- Cassie Nash recorded her second-straight game with two goals, Megan Roberts set a new career-high goal total, and the Simpson College women's soccer team pushed its win streak to four with a 3-0 victory over Coe on Saturday evening.

The Storm (11-5-1, 5-2 A-R-C) have outscored their opponents 16-0 in the last four games and successfully locked in the No. 3 seed in this year's American Rivers Conference Tournament beginning on Oct. 30.

Roberts scored the eventual game-winner in the 23rd minute to bring her season goal total to seven, a new career-high. The senior from Norwalk, Iowa has scored in five of the last six games including four-straight after today.

Nash later added a pair of scores for the Storm to bring her season total to 12 goals, a mark that ties Luther's Maggie Haller as the best in the conference. The junior now has four multi-goal performances this season.

Hailey Kowzan, the reigning A-R-C Offensive Player of the Week, was credited with the assist on Nash's second goal of the game. In Simpson's four-game win streak, Kowzan has scored twice and provided the assist on five more.

Simpson held a massive advantage in shots with 23 compared to two from the Kohawks (3-13-1, 2-5 A-R-C). In goal, Brenny Frederick made one save en route to her 10th win and fifth shutout of the season.
