Storm wrap up Kip Janvrin Open on Senior Day

INDIANOLA, Iowa - The Simpson College women's track and field team wrapped up the Kip Janvrin Open with Senior Day on Friday afternoon.

The Storm had six athletes on the women's side be honored for their contributions to both the track and field and cross country programs.

Maddie Hays had a unique day, competing at both the Kip Janvrin Open and the Drake Relays. Hays kicked the day off by running a time of 12.57 in the 100 meters at Kip, moving her into fourth all-time in school history. She then headed over to Drake where she clocked a time of 1:03.83 in the 400 meter hurdles.

Aaliyah Johnson had the highest individual placing in an event on the day for the Storm, setting a new personal best with a mark of 11.19 meters in the triple jump to claim the silver medal. Maddax DeVault also took sixth place in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:06.51. 

UP NEXT
The Storm are off until next Friday, with a trip to Dubuque on that day. The meet is the final preparation before the conference championships.
