
Hays, Erhardt lead Storm at Wartburg
WAVERLY, Iowa - The Simpson College women's track and field team finished up its last meet before next week's conference championships, led by performances from Maddie Hays and Emily Erhardt.
Hays competed in the 60 meters and the 400 meters, lowering her career best in the latter event en route to winning the race and breaking the meet record. Erhardt also moved into the top 10 all time in school history in the mile.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Hays clocked a time of 58.22 in the 400, moving her into second place all-time in school history and breaking the previous meet record of 58.50.
- Hays also took silver in the 60 meters, running a time of 8.06 in the final.
- Erhardt set a new career best with a time of 5:23.08 in the mile, moving into ninth all-time in school history in the event.
- Aaliyah Johnson took second in the high jump with a season-best mark of 1.53 meters, while Anna Parrott took the bronze with a career-best jump of 1.43 meters.
- The Storm women took third out of seven teams, earning 44 points.
