Simpson duo competes in first multi event of the season

PELLA, Iowa - Maddie Hays and Anna Parrott each competed in the pentathlon at the Dutch Winter Multi for the Simpson College women's track and field team.

Each athlete set one career-best on the day, with Parrott also competing in her first multi event competition for the Storm after previous success in sprints and jumps.

HIGHLIGHTS

• Hays took fourth place overall in the pentathlon, scoring a total of 2,603 points.
• The Erie, Co. native showed her versatility by winning the 800 meters in a time of 2:31.38.
• Parrott scored 2,234 points in her first pentathlon, setting a career-best in the shot put with a mark of 8.82 meters.
