Storm remain unbeaten through 13 games
LINCOLN, Neb. – Jordyn Foelske and Hailey Kowzan both contributed a goal and an assist, Meredith Downs anchored the defense with her seventh shutout, and the Simpson College women's soccer team kept its unblemished record intact with a 3-0 road victory over Nebraska Wesleyan.
Foelske opened the scoring in the 24th minute, receiving a well-placed pass from Kowzan and skillfully placing the ball into the net from 15 yards out to put Simpson (10-0-3, 4-0-0 A-R-C) on the board. Her impact continued into the second half, as she intercepted a Prairie Wolf defender's pass in front of the goal and delivered a quick setup for Cassie Nash, who doubled the lead 10 minutes in.
Kowzan put the game firmly out of reach in the 68th minute, driving a shot from a sharp angle on the right side to the far corner to give the Storm a three-goal cushion.
Downs made two saves in the win and was aided by strong defense from Maddie Hays, Julia Wagoner and Elle Street, who all played the full 90 minutes and limited Nebraska Wesleyan (5-9-2, 0-4-2) to seven shots.
