Storm dominate Raiders in battle of unbeatens

INDIANOLA, Iowa – Maddie Hays converted her first penalty kick of the season, Cassie Nash and Anna Eide combined for seven points, and the Simpson College women's soccer team avenged one of just three losses from a year ago with a 4-1 win over Milwaukee School of Engineering on Sunday.

The Storm (3-0-1) netted two goals in each half, with each pair being scored within a three minute span. Hays and Eide both registered their first goals of the season, while Nash scored her third and Ally Hoffa struck for her second.

Nash added two assists to her stat line for a total of four points. Eide, Macy Kuhns and Hailey Kowzan were all credited with assists as well as Simpson handed the Raiders (3-1-0) their first loss of the season.

SCORING SUMMARY

  • MSOE used a sharp header by Maggie Thillman to cut the lead in half in the 56th minute. Claire Bradford assisted the goal.
  • Anna Eide restored Simpson's two-goal cushion in the 79th minute, finishing off a throw-in by Macy Kuhns that was poked between two defenders by Nash.
  • After dishing out two assists, Nash got in on the scoring herself to grow the lead to 4-1. Hailey Kowzan passed a ball up the right side of the field that Nash gathered and shot around the keeper to the opposite corner of the net.
