Simpson extends unbeaten streak at home to 15 games
INDIANOLA, Iowa – The Simpson College women's soccer team added another tally to the win column with a 3-2 victory over Wis.-Eau Claire on Saturday afternoon, extending its unbeaten streak at home to 15 consecutive games.
Cassie Nash scored less than two minutes into the game and Maddie Hays added her third penalty kick of the season to aid Simpson (5-0-3) to a 2-1 halftime lead. Nash later assisted Layna Depping on the eventual game-winning goal scored in the 61st minute.
Haley Von Rentzell scored both goals for the Blugolds (4-4-1), with the first coming off an assist from Emma Donovan and the second sneaking in with under a minute left in the second half.

- The win extends Simpson's unbeaten streak at home to 15 games dating back to Oct. 22, 2022.
- This is the first time in program history Simpson has been undefeated through eight games.
- Maddie Hays is now 12-for-14 in career penalty kicks, including a perfect 3-for-3 this season.
- Cassie Nash has recorded at least one point in all but one game this season.
- Nash's goal in 1:42 is the Storm's quickest goal of the year.
- Layna Depping now leads the Storm with two gamewinners in 2024.
- Seventeen of Simpson's 20 goals have been scored by its graduating class, including all three today.
- The Storm have found the back of the net first in all but one contest this season, which was a scoreless draw.
- Simpson remains unbeaten and has not faced a deficit through eight games.
- The Storm now lead the head-to-head series with Wis.-Eau Claire 3-2, winning the last three matchups.
- With three points today, Nash surpassed Tracie Whitney (168) on the all-time leaderboard. She now ranks third with 170 career points.
- Nash also officially became the fifth Simpson women's soccer player to record 30 or more career assists.
