Taylor repeats as Academic All-America of the Year

INDIANOLA, Iowa – Simpson College women's basketball graduate Jenna Taylor makes history as the first player in Division III to be tabbed the College Sports Information Director of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-America of the Year twice in a career since the organization split the divisions in 2011-12.

In the 35-year history of the award, Taylor is just the third player to earn the honor multiple times.

The Creston, Iowa native graduated in May 2021 with a perfect 4.0 GPA as an accounting and economics: finance major. She currently holds a 3.76 GPA while pursuing a post-baccalaureate certificate in data analytics.

On the hardwood, Taylor averaged 16.6 points and 7.8 rebounds in her final season with the Storm. Her 44.9 3-point percentage ranks second in the nation, while her 57.1 field goal percentage ranks 10th. She was named American Rivers Conference Most Valuable Player for the second consecutive year and earned D3hoops.com All-Region 9 First Team honors a day ago.

Taylor, who earns the third Academic All-America status of her career, joins two others as repeat selections on the first team. Four of the 15 members own a perfect 4.0 GPA in their undergraduate work or graduate school. To view the complete team, click here.
