Kincaid, Luderman garner A-R-C Player of the Week honors
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Simpson College women's basketball senior Cameron Kincaid and Storm softball junior Maddie Luderman have both been named American Rivers Conference Player of the Week in their respective sports.
This is Kincaid's third-career player of the week honor and second of the season. Luderman collects the first weekly conference accolade of her career.
Kincaid guided the women's basketball team to its second-straight A-R-C Tournament Championship with 38 points, 11 rebounds and five assists. She scored 12 points all in the first half of Simpson's 106-75 semifinal win over Luther before fueling the Storm to a 62–59 win over Wartburg in the title game with 26 points and 11 rebounds, her first double-double of the season. Kincaid was 8-for-13 from the floor and a perfect 9-for-9 at the line in the win over the Knights.
Luderman had a monster performance in the softball team's opening weekend, going 7-for-10 at the plate with two home runs and nine RBI. She drove in three runs and had her first round tripper in a 14-2 win over Austin before helping Simpson to an 8-5 victory over Dallas with four RBIs fueled by a three-run bomb. Luderman drove in two of the Storm's three runs in their only loss.
The Storm women's basketball team continues its postseason journey on Friday in the first round of the NCAA DIII Women's Basketball Tournament. Simpson is set to host the first two rounds on March 4-5 and will face Gustavus Adolphus on Friday night. The Storm softball team has a brief hiatus before returning to action at The Spring Games on March 12 in Clermont, Fla.
