Simpson lands three on D3hoops.com All-Region Team

INDIANOLA, Iowa – The Simpson College women's basketball team had a record number of honorees on this year's D3hoops.com All-Region Team as Jenna Taylor, Cassie Nash and Cameron Kincaid were all recognized as some of the best performers in NCAA Division III Region 9.

Taylor was named to the first team, Nash landed on the second team, and Kincaid was selected to the third team. Taylor and Kincaid both pick up their second all-region nod in a row, while Nash earns her first for women's basketball and second of her career; the junior was named United Soccer Coaches All-Region this past fall after a stellar season on the pitch.

The Storm have never had more than two honorees in a single year. Across the 10 women's basketball regions, Simpson, Christopher Newport, and Hope were the only programs to have three all-region performers.

The D3hoops.com All-America teams will be released on Saturday, March 19.

Jenna Taylor, first team all-region
Taylor collects her second first team all-region honor in a row after averaging 16.6 points and 7.8 rebounds as a graduate student. The reigning two-time American Rivers Conference MVP led the league in scoring and had the second-highest field goal percentage (57.1) and 3-point percentage (44.9). She was named USBWA DIII National Player of the Week on Jan. 2 and earned four A-R-C Player of the Week accolades throughout the season. Taylor became just the second player to amass 1,600+ points and 700+ rebounds in Simpson uniform, and finished her illustrious career ranked third all-time in both categories (1,647 points, 748 rebounds).

Cassie Nash, second team all-region
One of the top defenders and most efficient scorers in the nation, Nash earned second team all-region honors to go with first team all-conference accolades. A 5-10 junior, Nash averaged 14.8 points with the ninth-highest field goal percentage (57.9) in the country. She led the conference and ranked seventh in Division III with 89 steals, finishing the season ranked second all-time for steals in a single season. Additionally, Nash was second on the team and in the league with 3.2 assists per game. She was named A-R-C Player of the Week on Feb. 14.

Cameron Kincaid, third team all-region
Kincaid landed on the third team after averaging 13.4 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game. The 6-0 forward scored a career-high 375 points as a fifth-year senior with nearly a third of those coming at the free throw line where she converted at a nation-best 92.2 percent clip. Kincaid was named A-R-C Player of the Week on two occasions, including the Monday after guiding the team to its second-straight tournament championship with 38 points, 11 rebounds and five assists. The four-time all-conference honoree finished her standout career as one of just nine players to tally over 1,000 points and 500 rebounds while at Simpson (1,247 points, 501 rebounds).
