Galloway wins javelin competition on day one of Kip Janvrin Open

INDIANOLA, Iowa - Troy Galloway of the Simpson College men's track and field team opened up competition at the Kip Janvrin Open by winning the javelin throw in a season-best mark.

Galloway recorded a mark of 48.19 meters, a new season best and less than two meters off his personal best.

Spencer Moon competed at the prestigious Drake Relays, recording a time of 3:50.75 in the 1,500 meters, around three seconds off his own school record. The time puts him just outside the top 25 in the country. James Murray took eighth in the same event at the Kip Janvrin Open, with a time of 3:57.54.

Ean Warrick was the top 5,000 meter runner for the Storm, taking 11th in a field of 109 runners with a time of 14:53.15. Jacob Willson also ran a personal best in the 3,000 meter steeplechase, recording a time of 10:15.79, which is the fastest by a Storm runner this season.
