The Storm (12-0, 8-0 A-R-C) are one of four teams without a blemish in the rankings. Simpson was previously seventh in the poll and entered the rankings 13th on Feb. 7 in the second week.

Across the nation, the Storm are fourth in scoring (84.7), sixth in free throw percentage (79.6%), eighth in assists per game (18.6), 10th in 3-point percentage (37.1%) and 3-pointers made per game (9.6) and 12th in field goal percentage (44.9%).

The Storm piled on all-conference awards with Brian Niemuth collecting his eighth Coach of the Year honor and Jenna Taylor earning MVP accolades after averaging 20.1 points and 9.0 rebounds per game during her senior campaign. Taylor was also tabbed the player of the week on three occasions throughout the season.

Cameron Kincaid joined Taylor on the All-American Rivers Conference first team, and Kia Rasmussen and Cassie Nash earned second-team honors.

The D3hoops.com poll is voted on by a panel of 15 coaches, sports information directors and media members from across the country, and is published weekly. Points are awarded on a 15-14-13-etc. basis. Because of the changing nature of the pandemic, the number of voters and teams voted for may change from week to week.
