Taylor repeats at A-R-C Athlete of the Week

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- Three-straight American Rivers Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Weeks for Simpson College after senior Jenna Taylor received her second-straight honor, the league announced Monday.

Taylor has now earned the weekly award for the sixth time in her career after being selected in back-to-back weeks for the Storm. Fellow senior Cameron Kincaid was awarded the honor on Jan. 25 for the conference's first recipient this season.

The Creston, Iowa native poured in 23 points and corralled 13 rebounds for her second-straight double-double of the season in the Storm's only contest last week against Central. Taylor drained three shots from behind the arc and went 9-for-15 overall.

Taylor led Simpson to a 77-61 victory over the Dutch to hand them their first blemish of the season. The Storm hold a 4-0 record and a 3-0 mark in A-R-C play.

Among conference competitors, Taylor is first in scoring (21.3) and 3-point percentage (65.0%), and second in rebounding (9.3) and field goal percentage (59.3%).
