Storm ranked No. 14 in latest D3hoops.com poll

INDIANOLA, Iowa -- A week after defeating unbeaten RV Central, the Simpson College women's basketball team is now ranked No. 14 in the D3hoops.com Top-15 poll, the organization announced Monday.

The Storm are currently 4-0 overall and 3-0 in American Rivers Conference play to sit atop the league standings as the only squad without a loss after they were receiving votes in last week's poll. Simpson has produced three-straight A-R-C Player of the Week recipients, senior Cameron Kincaid was the first honoree and Jenna Taylor has earned the distinction in back-to-back weeks.

Among NCAA Division III programs, the Storm are fourth in 3-pointers made per game (10.0), seventh in free throw percentage (81.2%), 13th in scoring (80.5) and scoring margin (22.2). Against A-R-C foes, Simpson is first in scoring and 3-point percentage.

The D3hoops.com poll is voted on by a panel of 15 coaches, sports information directors and media members from across the country, and is published weekly. Points are awarded on a 15-14-13-etc. basis. Because of the changing nature of the pandemic, the number of voters and teams voted for may change from week to week.
