Kincaid collects first A-R-C Athlete of the Week honor

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- After a career day on Saturday, Simpson College women's basketball's Cameron Kincaid is named the American Rivers Conference Female Athlete of the Week, the league announced Monday.

The senior unleashed a career-high 26 points in the Storm's (1-0) dominating 79-56 victory at Coe (0-1) over the weekend to earn her first conference weekly honor. Kincaid shot 11-for-18 from the floor to secure her second career 20-point performance and first since Dec. 28, 2018.

The Olathe, Kansas native made two of the team's five 3-pointers in the contest, marking the third time in her career she connected on two-or-more triples in a game.

On the defensive side of the ball, Kincaid collected five rebounds to extend her streak to four-straight outings with at least five boards. The forward also tallied three steals to tie for the game high in 34 minutes of action.

Kincaid and company will hit the hardwood on Wednesday for the home opener against Nebraska Wesleyan (0-1). Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m. as the Storm aim for their fourth win in a row over the Prairie Wolves.
