Simpson moves to No. 10 in D3hoops.com Top-15 Poll

INDIANOLA, Iowa -- After tallying a pair of wins last week, the Simpson College women's basketball team is now ranked No. 10 in the latest D3hoops.com Top-15 Poll, the organization announced Monday.

The Storm remained undefeated after securing a 75-60 win at Luther on Monday, Feb. 22 and had a decisive 103-61 victory against Dubuque on senior day over the weekend.

Simpson climbs the rankings after sitting 14th last week and was 13th at one point during the season. The Storm join No. 4 Wartburg on the poll as the two lone squads to represent the American Rivers Conference. Simpson enjoyed an 81-80 double overtime win over the Knights last night to finish the regular season 9-0 and 8-0 in league play to grab the top seed in the league tournament that starts next week.

The offense is currently fourth in nation in made 3-pointers per game (10.8), fifth in scoring (84.6), sixth in assists per game (19.4), seventh in free throw percentage (78.7%) and ninth in 3-point percentage (39.1%).

The D3hoops.com poll is voted on by a panel of 15 coaches, sports information directors and media members from across the country, and is published weekly. Points are awarded on a 15-14-13-etc. basis. Because of the changing nature of the pandemic, the number of voters and teams voted for may change from week to week.
