WBB Preview: Home opener awaits Simpson on Wednesday

INDIANOLA, Iowa -- The American Rivers Conference and home openers are finally here for the Simpson College women's basketball team as Nebraska Wesleyan visits for a 5:30 p.m. contest on Wednesday.

The Storm (1-0, 0-0 A-R-C) enter after winning 79-56 at Coe on Saturday, while the Prairie Wolves (0-1, 0-1 A-R-C) were upended, 79-54, at Wartburg.

Todd Guessford and Ethan Humble will be on the call as the game will be streamed live through SimpsonAthletics.com. Pregame will begin at 5:15 p.m.

SIMPSON ATTENDANCE POLICY
At this time, the general public, faculty, staff and students will not be allowed to attend home contests inside Cowles Fieldhouse. Student-athletes and coaches from both teams will be permitted two spectators that can attend.

NEBRASKA WESLEYAN SERIES NOTES
For the 21st time, Simpson and Nebraska Wesleyan square off on the hardwood ... the Storm own the series with a 16-4 advantage and look for their fourth win in a row over their league foe ... Simpson's offense has scored at least 90 points in the last three meetings, while reaching the 100-point plateau during the last two contests ... in total, the Storm have put up triple digits on the scoreboard in three matchups, while coming close in a 99-point effort on Nov. 23, 2007 against Nebraska Wesleyan.

ABOUT THE PRAIRIE WOLVES
Nebraska Wesleyan and fourth-year head coach Sam Dixon enter with one game under their belts after being picked to finish eighth in the A-R-C Preseason Coaches' Poll ... the Prairie Wolves had their season opener on Saturday and lost 79-45 to Wartburg ... Paige Ravenscroft led the way with 12 points, while Jazmine Glenn poured in eight points to help lead the offense after the team shot 31.8% from the floor … Nebraska Wesleyan struggled in the first half by not making a shot in the first quarter and ended the contest with a 17.6% shooting clip from behind the arc.

LAST TIME OUT
Simpson earned a 79-56 victory at Coe on Saturday to open the season in the win column ... as both teams were picked to tie for third in the conference standings, the Storm shot 49.2% from the field and held the Kohawks to 29.4% overall ... senior Cameron Kincaid talled a career-high 26 points, with five rebounds and three steals ... senior Jenna Taylor (18) and Cassie Nash (13) tallied double-digits as well to boost the offense.

A-R-C ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
After scoring a career high on Saturday, senior Cameron Kincaid was tabbed the A-R-C Female Athlete of the Week on Monday ... this is the first league weekly honor in Kincaid's career ... the Olathe, Kansas native went 11-for-18 from the floor to tally a career-high 26 points for her third career 20-point performance ... Kincaid filled the stat sheet with five rebounds and three steals.
