Nash earns back-to-back A-R-C Offensive Player of the Week award

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – For the second week in a row and third time this season, senior Cassie Nash has been named American Rivers Conference Offensive Player of the Week. She was also named the conference's overall Female Athlete of the Week.

Nash had another monster week with five goals across two wins. She scored two goals in a 7-0 win at Nebraska Wesleyan before finding the back of the net three times in the Storm's 5-1 win over Dubuque. It was the second Saturday in a row she recorded a hat trick following her five-goal performance at Luther on Oct. 15.

With her five goals this week, Nash is now tied for sixth in the nation with 19 total goals. She is one goal shy of becoming just the fifth player in Simpson history to record 20 goals in a season and the first since Erin Goettl accomplished the feat in 2003.

The Lincoln, Neb. native finished the 2022 conference season with 14 goals against league opponents, the most by anyone in the conference since 2004 when Luther's Katie Pelligrew scored 15. Her efforts helped the Storm secure the No. 3 seed in the A-R-C Tournament with a 6-2 record.

Simpson (9-5-1, 6-2 A-R-C) closes out its regular season on Tuesday afternoon when UW-River Falls comes to town for a 3 p.m. nonconference match.
