Nash earns national recognition following five-goal performance

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – In addition to the American Rivers Conference Player of the Week honor she earned on Monday, Cassie Nash has been named the United Soccer Coaches DIII National Player of the Week.

Nash was responsible for six of Simpson's 11 goals scored across two league wins last week. She contributed a goal and an assist at Central on Tuesday and piled up five goals against Luther over the weekend to finish the week with 13 points.

With her five goals against the Norse, Nash surpassed her goal total of 13 from last year and now ranks second in the conference and 14th in Division III with 14 total. She leads the A-R-C with 21 points and nine goals scored in league play.

The Storm (7-5-1, 4-2-0 A-R-C) have two more league matches this week. Simpson is set to face Nebraska Wesleyan tonight before hosting Dubuque on Saturday at 1 pm. The team will then conclude the regular season next Tuesday with a nonconference match with UW-River Falls.
