IRVING, Texas – Cassie Nash played a role in all three goals that helped the SImpson College women's soccer team return to the win column on Saturday. The Storm closed their time in Texas with a 3-0 shutout win over Dallas.
Midway through the first half, Nash chipped one over the keeper to give Simpson (2-2-1) a 1-0 lead. The Storm maintained that advantage until the 64th minute when Brissa Valadez worked a beautiful pass from Nash around a Dallas defender to the back of the net. The duo has now teamed up to score three of Simpson's 10 goals this season.
Nash capped off her third career five-point effort with another unassisted goal in the 71st minute. She finished with a game-high eight shots, including four on goal. Valadez and Jordyn Foelske combined for eight more shots as Simpson won the shot battle 19-4 over the Crusaders (1-2-0).
Lani Mears made two saves in her first win as a member of the Storm.
