WAVERLY, Iowa – Katie Berglund scored the game's only goal early in the second half and No. 7 Warburg stayed unbeaten with a 1-0 win over the Simpson College women's soccer team on Saturday.
Mya Jansen assisted Berglund in breaking the scoreless tie in the 53rd minute.
The Storm (4-4-1, 1-1 A-R-C) took four shots on the day, while the Knights (10-0-1, 2-0 A-R-C) attempted 24.
Lani Mears registered 11 saves, the most by a Simpson keeper since Aspen Brockhouse made 12 stops against Grand View in 2019. Mears tallied eight saves in the first half and added a ninth before Wartburg, which came into the game averaging 3.0 goals per game, finally found the back of the net.
