Storm quartet score in A-R-C win over Coe

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- The Simpson men's soccer team grabbed another American Rivers Conference victory Wednesday night with a 4-1 triumph over Coe on the road, backed by goals from four different players.

Before most fans were even settled into their seats, Enrique Idehen scored in the second minute to lift the Storm (12-1, 2-0 A-R-C) to a quick 1-0 advantage. The Kohawks (4-8, 0-3 A-R-C) brought the game back to even at 1-1 with a goal in the 20th minute from Brayden Koch.

Jordy Triana-Vasquez tallied the game-winning goal just before halftime in the 42nd minute with the aid from Ian Dean. Dean earned the assist as Triana-Vasquez connected on his first-career game-winner.

Just after the second half started, Simpson scored two goals in a matter of two minutes of action. Jack Lammers put a ball in the upper right-hand corner of the net to increase the lead to 3-1 off a pass from Triana-Vasquez in the 51st minute. Darius Doswell followed in the 53rd with a goal to give the team some additional breathing room. Dean was credited with another assist on Doswell's sixth netter of the year. Dean is now tied for first on the team with five assists.

The Storm's offense stayed true to their attacking ways and fired off 24 shots, while the defense held Coe at bay with only two attempts. Simpson has now launched at least 20 shots in six straight contests.
