Truman named A-R-C Athlete of the Week

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- Junior baseball player Truman Schmitt has been named the American Rivers Conference Male Athlete and Position Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday.

Schmitt has started the season on fire at the plate for Simpson with a .600 batting average and 15 hits.

This is the second-consecutive week that Simpson has had a player receive recognition from the league office. Brady Held was honored as the A-R-C Pitcher of the Week last week.

The Storm travel to Iowa City tomorrow to compete against the University of Iowa. First pitch is slated to begin at 4 p.m.
