Krider nets two goals in Storm win

MT. VERNON - Ashlee Krider turned in the first multi-goal performance of her career as Simpson earned a 3-1 win Saturday against Cornell.

Krider (Norwalk, Iowa) scored the game-winner early in the second half and added an insurance goal in the 55th minute for the Storm (6-6-1, 2-1 IIAC).

Kelli Ford got the Rams (2-10, 0-4 IIAC) on the board 2 minutes 20 seconds into the contest for the 1-0 lead. 

Simpson got the equalizer in the 18th minute from Nicole Dillenburg (Urbandale, Iowa). Krider's first goal came off an assist from Katherine Bird (Iowa City, Iowa) in the 49th minute. Bird also assisted on Krider's final goal, putting the icing on the cake in the 55th minute. 

The Storm outshot Cornell 20-11 and got four saves from goalkeeper Jessica Toyne (Bellevue, Neb.).

Simpson takes the pitch again Wednesday, hosting Coe at Buxton Stadium in a 5 p.m. start.
