Storm complete comeback with overtime win

ST. PETER, Minn. - Ashlee Krider's (Norwalk, Iowa) goal in the fourth minute of the second overtime lifted Simpson to a 3-2, come-from-behind win against Gustavus Adolphus on Sunday.

The Storm (4-6-1) came back from one-goal deficits twice in the contest and trailed 2-1 in the final minute of regulation. With 33 seconds left, Katherine Bird (Iowa City, Iowa) stuck the ball into the bottom right corner of the goal, forcing extra time.

Simpson outshot Gustavus 14-11 in regulation, but took only one shot in the overtime period, facing five. Jessica Toyne (Bellevue, Neb.) went the distance between the posts, making six saves in her first start of the season.

Ashley Anderson netted two goals for the Gusties (4-7-0), the second of which made the score 2-1 with a goal in the 53rd minute.

Trailing 1-0, Nicole Dillenburg (Urbandale, Iowa) got Simpson on the board with an equalizer in the 14th minute.

Simpson hits the road for a pair of conference matches this week, traveling to Buena Vista on Wednesday and Cornell on Saturday.
