No. 6 Loras too much for Storm

DUBUQUE - Madeline Tennant and Rachel Rieger found the back of the net as No. 6 Loras beat Simpson 2-0 on Saturday.

The Duhawks (16-1, 7-0 IIAC) kept their perfect conference record in tact, outshooting Simpson 10-1 on the afternoon.

After a scoreless first half, Tennant put Loras on the board in the 55th minute, taking a feed from Jessica Kern for the game-winner. Rieger headed in a corner from Hillary Wilson in the 66th minute to put the game out of reach.

Jessica Toyne made four saves between the posts for the Storm (7-9-1, 3-4 IIAC), who were seeking their first win against Loras since 2006.

Simpson closes the regular season Saturday, squaring off against Wartburg in a 6 p.m. kickoff at Buxton Stadium.
