Second-half goals sink Simpson
INDIANOLA, Iowa - A pair of second-half goals helped Nebraska Wesleyan to a 2-0 season-opening victory against the Simpson women's soccer team Wednesday night.
Goals by Regina O'Donnell and Alison Frohn erased a 0-0 halftime tie as the Prairie Wolves (1-0) earned a road victory at Buxton Stadium.
Emily Dierks made six saves for Nebraska Wesleyan, as the Storm (0-1) put six of their eight shots on goal. Susan Leslie and Nicole Dillenburg each attempted two shots as the Storm were out-shot 17-8 on the night.
Returning first team all-conference goalkeeper Megan Petersen didn't allow a goal and made one save in the first half, but didn't return after halftime. Jessica Toyne made two saves and allowed scores in goal for Simpson.
