Storm drop 3-1 decision to Clarke

ST. PAUL - Three different Crusaders netted goals as Clarke defeated Simpson 3-1 in the first round of the St. Catherine Wildcat Invitational on Saturday.

Beth Sherer scored the first goal of the game on a penalty kick in the 21st minute and assisted on Katie Sebastian's goal 14 minutes later. Andrea Bruce closed the scoring for the Crusaders (3-1) in the 81st minute.

Clarke will meet host St. Catherine in the championship game Sunday at 11 a.m.

Nicole Dillenburg (Urbandale, Iowa) scored Simpson's lone goal, which made the score 2-1 with three minutes remaining in the first half. The Storm (1-3) will face Minnesota-Morris at 2 p.m. Sunday.
