IIAC Peformers of the Week

The senior sprinter and hurdler from Toledo, Iowa, brings home the honor for the second week in a row after winning three events at the Central Weather Saver Invitational held Thursday, April 5. He won the 110-meter hurdles, the 200-meter dash and led off the winning 4x100-meter relay team in leading the Storm to a second-place finish.

Kalinay lowered his season-best time in the 110 hurdles by finishing in 14.64 seconds, currently the No. 8 time in Division III. He teamed up with Chase Wetterling, Travis Tupper and Kirk Wicks to run the 4x100 relay in 42.02 seconds, currently the No. 9 time in Division III. He ran the 200 meters in a collegiate-best time of 21.95 seconds, good for 23rd in Division III.

Although he didn't run the event at Central, Kalinay is also ranked nationally in the 100-meter dash at 27th. He currently owns the top times in the Iowa Conference in the 100, 200 and 110 hurdles. The Storm's 4x100 relay team is second in the IIAC, just .07 seconds behind Dubuque.

The conference weekly honor is the 13th of Kalinay's career and marks the sixth on the outdoor side.
