A senior from Toledo, Iowa, Kalinay was named Most Valuable Track Performer at the IIAC Indoor Championships held Feb. 23-24 in Pella. The sprinter and hurdler won individual conference titles in the 60-meter hurdles and the 200-meter dash and ran the opening leg of the Storm's winning 4x200-meter relay team. He added a runner-up finish in the 60-meter dash to become just the second IIAC Indoor Most Valuable Track Performer in school history.

Kalinay defended his title in the hurdles, finishing in 8.20 seconds to set an IIAC record. He ran the open 200 in a Kyuper Fieldhouse Record 22.51 seconds and helped the 4x200-meter relay team win a third-straight title, breaking the tape in 1:30.57. He registered a 7-flat in the 60.

Kalinay is currently ranked 11th nationally in the 60-meter hurdles.
