Kalinay named IIAC Performer of the Week
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Simpson senior hurdler Dylan Kalinay earned Iowa Conference Track Performer of the Week honors for the period ending Sunday, Dec. 10, the league office announced earlier this week.
Kalinay won the 60-meter hurdles and tied for sixth in the 60-meter dash at the Dutch Holiday Preview on Saturday, Dec. 9. The Toledo, Iowa native ran the hurdles in 8.28 seconds at the Storm's season-opening meet, currently the No. 8 time in Division III. He ran the 60 in 7.08 seconds.
The defending conference champion in the 55-meter hurdles earns Performer of the Week honors for the seventh time in his career and fourth indoors. He also won the award on Jan. 29, 2017, Dec. 4, 2016 and Feb. 22, 2015.
The Storm return to action Friday, Jan. 19 at the Nebraska Wesleyan Invitational.
