Sprinters lead Storm at Nebraska Wesleyan

LINCOLN, Neb. — Dylan Kalinay finished third in the 60-meter hurdles and Kyle Hovey and Jordan Coughenour added fourth-place efforts to lead the Simpson men's track and field team at the Prairie Wolf Indoor Invitational on Friday, Jan. 19.

Kalinay ran 8.42 in the preliminary round and 8.43 in the finals to take home third in the 60 hurdles, just narrowly behind the winner Jonathan Flight of Hastings College (8.22), and Vincent Ohlman (8.30).

Hovey added a fourth-place finish in the 1,000 meters with a time of 2:35.43, behind Mark Fairley, Kyle Pape, and Jon Spect of Central College. Fairley finished first in 2:32.78.

Coughenour took fourth in the 400 meters with a time of 50.19, just 2.76 seconds behind the winner, Cody Rush (Unattached).

Travis Tupper contributed a sixth-place finish in the 200 meters, finishing in a time of 22.60.
