Storm end season in A-R-C AQ Tournament Semifinals
DECORAH, Iowa -- The Simpson College women's tennis squad closed its season with a 5-1 loss to Wartburg in the American Rivers Conference Automatic Qualifier Tournament Semifinals on Friday.
The Storm (11-7) finish the year with the program's first double-digit win performance since the 2012-13 campaign.
Emily King tallied the team's lone victory in a 6-3, 6-1 match at No. 2 singles. King finished her junior season with 14 victories.
Anna Wanek (No. 1), Kennedi Wright (No. 4) and Donni Kinghorn (No. 5) were still competing when the Knights (15-7) recorded their fifth point.
Wanek ends the year with 19 triumphs, Kinghorn had 11 and Wright had seven. Grubb was the third player to reach double-digit wins with 14 and Aubrey Ocheltree had five in her season with Simpson.
Wartburg takes on Luther in the championship match on Saturday at 1 p.m. in Decorah.
