Simpson stumbles in A-R-C match at Luther

DECORAH, Iowa-- The Simpson women's tennis team lost 8-1 at Luther this afternoon in an American Rivers Conference match.

After dropping the first set 6-2, the Storm's (3-2, 3-2 A-R-C) Anna Wanek reeled off two straight victories coming in 6-4, 17-15 sets to remain undefeated at No. 1 singles this season for the team's lone triumph. The duo of Emily King and Wanek were clipped 8-6 at No. 2 doubles, the closest in pairs play for Simpson on the day.

The Norse (4-0, 4-0 A-R-C) are tied for first in the American Rivers Conference standings with four victories to match with Wartburg.

The Storm return to the court tomorrow for a doubleheader in Mount Vernon, Iowa against Cornell and Wisconsin Lutheran. The first match begins at 9 a.m. against the Rams and the bout with the Warriors starts at noon.
