Reinert highlights women’s soccer all-conference honorees

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- After reaching the conference tournament for the first time since 2013, Simpson women's soccer head coach Jeremy Reinert was named American Rivers Conference Coach of the Year in addition to the Storm placing five on the All-A-R-C Women's Soccer Team, as voted on by the league's nine head coaches.

Emma Fleddermann and Rachel Neumann both received all-conference honors while Brooklin Froehlich, Megan Roberts and Cami Schmalz were honorable mention selections for Simpson.

The Storm finished 10-4-5 and 4-2-2 in league play to end tied for third in the league standings. This is the first time since 2011 that Simpson has tallied double-digit wins in a season.

Jeremy Reinert | Coach of the Year
• Led Storm to a 10-4-5 overall record and 4-2-2 mark in league play in second season as head coach
• Achieved the team's first conference tournament appearance since 2013
• Had a six-game win improvement from last year and captured the program's most victories in a season since 2011
• Becomes third conference coach of the year and first since Cory Chapman received the honor in 2006

Emma Fleddermann | All-Conference
• Senior from Castle Rock, Colo.
• Played in all 19 matches for Simpson this season
• Helped the Storm tally 11 shutouts for second most in program history
• Headed up a defensive unit that led the conference with a 0.63 goals per contest

Rachel Neumann | All-Conference
• Sophomore from Grimes, Iowa
• Finished first in the league with a 0.61 goals allowed clip and a 0.89 save percentage
• Her 0.61 goals allowed average this year is first in team history for a goalie that played more than 1,000 minutes
• Ended fourth in program history with seven blank sheets in a season
• Started season with four-straight shutouts while in goal

Brooklin Froehlich | Honorable Mention All-Conference
• Freshman from Sioux City, Iowa
• Played in all 19 matches for the Storm
• Anchored a backline that secured 11 shutouts and allowed just 12 goals all year

Megan Roberts | Honorable Mention All-Conference
• Sophomore from Norwalk, Iowa
• Played in all 19 matches for the Storm
• Scored six goals in her first season with Simpson with one game-winner
• Game-winner came against Westminster (Mo.) in the team's first match of the season

Cami Schmalz | Honorable Mention All-Conference
• Junior from Muscatine, Iowa
• Tallied five game-winning goals this season, second most in program history for a season
• Finished with eight goals and one assist for 17 points
• Seventh all-time in program history with seven game-winning goals
• Played in all 19 matches for the Storm
